Do I need to know how to read Arabic to join the course?
Yes, you are required to know this.
Do I need to know Tajweed to join the course?
Yes, you need to know the basics of Tajweed. If you have not learned them yet, enroll to our Tajweed Easy Starter course.
Will the live classes be recorded?
Yes, the live sessions are recorded. This is to have evidence in case of any complaint from the student’s side or from the teacher. In this way, the administrator has the opportunity to return to the recording and investigate the problem. Note that the recordings are kept under highly restrictive secrecy, and they are automatically removed from Zoom every two weeks.
Will I be able to enroll to any Quran memorization course after having completed the Tajweed Intensive course?
Yes, you will, in sha’ Allah, provided that you have passed your weekly tests, the final oral exam and have devoted enough time to practise the Tajweed apart from the weekly live classes.
Will I receive any certificate upon successful completion of the course?
Yes, the students who have successfully completed the course and received the minimum passing grade will receive an attested Tajweed diploma, in sha’ Allah.
What happens if I fail my weekly tests or exams?
You will not receive the attested Tajweed diploma and will need to re-take the course if you wish to receive the certificate.
Where does the study take place?
The International Open University is an online educational resource. The entire program is taught online via Internet. Anybody from any part of the world can join easily and benefit from it, in sha’ Allah.
What if I have a slow Internet connection?
Since the program is completely based on the live classes, it is compulsory that the students have a high speed Internet connection to make the best use of all the services.
Is an English language certification like TOEFL or IELTS required?
No. English language certification(s) is not a requirement to apply for the Tajweed Intensive course. However, you should be aware that English is the medium of instruction in the entire course.
Will the classes be conducted in the month of Ramadan?
The classes during Ramadan will be conducted as always. However, teachers have a right to cancel the live sessions during the last 10 days of Ramadan. These sessions will not be made up for.
Additionally, the first two days of Eid are officially off.
When is the enrollment open?
The enrollment is open from 1st to 10th of every month.
I paid the fee and enrolled in a group. What next?
You may enter your course page and begin attending the live sessions according to the class schedule
I have received an email to re-upload my photo/ID scan. What do I do once I have taken care of that?
Once you have re-uploaded your photo/ID scan, email us at gqmc.helpdesk@iou.edu.gm so that we may verify the status of your uploads, in sha’ Allah.
What is a photo ID?
A photo ID is a legal identity document with your photograph in it (e.g. national ID card, passport, driver’s license, etc.). The document must be valid and include your full name and birth date.
How do I virtually sign the disclaimer form?
After reading carefully the disclaimer, sign it in the registration form by ticking the last box “Disclaimer” which states: “I have read and agree to the Disclaimer Form of GQMC”. There is no need to submit a document with your traditional signature.
I forgot my password. What should I do?
In order to reset your password, click on the ‘forgotten password’ button located under the login fields. If your password reset was not successful and you are still unable to log in, email us at gqmc.helpdesk@iou.edu.gm . Please do not create a new account; having multiple accounts with IOU is not allowed under any circumstances.
What software is used for the Tajweed live classes?
Our teachers use Zoom for Education software.
